Well known comedian Nik Rabinowitz says the quest to discover the Holy Grail of the South African braai has been one helluva ride, “We’ve travelled the length and breadth of South Africa, ok not quite, in the most unusual, head-turning, show-stopping modes of transport. All kinds of incredible South Africans have driven and fed us: lifeguards to lawyers, farmers to fishermen, rugby players to rock stars.”

Chef Hezron Louw, from Top Chef South Africa fame and owner of street food company Sumting Fresh, says, “Nik and I have had the best time bonding over unique cars, amazing places and the incredible characters that make up our nation. The padkos, cocktails and braais aren’t half bad either.”

Tyres & Braaiers airs every Wednesday evening on SABC3, premiering 5 April.
