Absolutely Fabulous and EastEnders star June Whitfield dies

Cape Town - British actress June Whitfield, who starred in popular comedy series Absolutely Fabulous, has died at the age of 93.

June also appeared in a slew of the other series such as Friends, Doctor Who, Coronation Street, Midsomer Murders and more.

Another one of June's most popular roles was when she appeared in long-running soapie, EastEnders as Sister Ruth.

The talented actress' agent told The BBC that her client had died peacefully on Friday night.

Tributes for the acting veteran have poured in from co-stars such as Jane Horrocks, Miranda Hart and more.
