Altus bids farewell to 7de Laan

Johannesburg - In a shocking announcement today Heino Schmitt who plays Altus on 7de Laan revealed he is leaving the soapie. After 11 years, Heino has made the decision to part ways with the SABC2 soapie.

The actor chatted to this morning telling of his decision to move on to other passions but affirming that he will be on screens till February 2016.

In the meantime, Heino will work as a freelance actor and model and spend more time on his artwork that he recently found a passion for. "Some people say I make furniture, but for me it’s functional art," says Heino.

According to 7de Laan’s publicity manager, Rosa-Mari Erasmus, Heino’s plans to exit were made recently. Says Rosa, "We at Danie Odendaal Productions respect his decision to leave and are very sad to see him go at the same time. He was part of the Laan family for over 11 years and he will be missed."
