Cape Town – Ryan Murphy has revealed that an episode of the American Horror Story: Cult has been edited to be less violent following the Las Vegas shooting.
According to E! Murphy spoke about the tough decision to edit the scene at The New Yorker Festival on Saturday.
The episode filmed in September has a scene in which a grisly mass shooting takes place. It has now been edited so that the violence takes place off screen.
Murphy said that the episode had a strong anti-gun warning about society reports Deadline.
Speaking about the decision to edit Murphy said that he believes that he had the right to air it but that victims also have rights.
"I believe that now is probably not the week to have something explosive or incendiary in the culture because someone who was affected might watch that and it could trigger something or make them feel upset," said Murphy.
The latest instalment in the anthology stars Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters and centres on the 2016 US presidential election. (Read more here)
