Johannesburg - The 23-year-old Idols SA contestant who was kicked out of the competition earlier this week is refusing to go down without a fight.
Siyakha Tshayela was removed from M-Net’s popular singing competition after it was alleged that she was involved in a legal dispute with a recording label.
She lodged an urgent application in the South Gauteng High Court on Friday, which was set to be heard on Saturday night.
The application seeks her immediate reinstatement as well as the withdrawal of a letter from Idols SA, according to which she had been terminated from the show.
Tshayela is represented by Phindiwe Khumalo Incorporated Attorneys.
The respondents are SiC Entertainment, the production company that oversees Idols SA, Thari Entertainment and M-Net.
Phindiwe Khumalo, the attorney representing Tshayela, told City Press that the allegation that Tshayela had signed with Thari Entertainment was false.
