'Dexter' to play JFK in The Crown

Cape Town – Michael C. Hall best known for his role in Dexter has joined The Crown.

The second season of the Netflix period drama is currently in production. 

According to Deadline Hall has been cast to play President John F Kennedy and South African born actress Jodi Balfour as Jackie Kennedy.

Season 2 will begin with the 1956 Suez Crisis and end with the downfall of Prime Minister Harold Macmillan.

It will also "usher in the revolutionary era of the 1960s", hence the presence of the Kennedys. 

The character of John F Kennedy is described as a natural leader and great public speaker who feels belittled by his wife's popularity. 

Jackie on the other hand hides a shy woman behind her glamour and polished exterior. 

Another addition to the cast is Matthew Goode who will play Princess Margaret's husband photographer Tony Armstrong-Jones.
