E! pulls Ken Baker off air after sexual harassment claims

Cape Town - E! News has pulled correspondent Ken Baker (47) off air indefinitely following serious sexual harassment allegations.

Former E! News staffers have come forward with shocking sexual harassment claims against Ken Baker, who himself just weeks ago appeared on-air on E! Entertainment (DStv 124) to report his disgust and the shameful behaviour of the sexual predator executive Harvey Weinstein.

Baker frequently appears on E! News on as well as on E!'s digital social media series Live from E!.

The Wrap first reported Baker being taken off air, one former E! News staffer said that Baker in 2012 called her into his dimly lit office and asked her to sit on his lap.

Another female E! News worker at the NBCUniversal pay-TV channel said she was kissed by Baker in 2011 without consent.

According to her, he repeatedly asked her for sex and in 2015 send her a message on her phone, saying he wants to give her "a Tiffany dildo with Ken Baker engraved on the shaft".

The former worker shared a photo of his message to her.

Baker that didn't deny the sexual harassment claims, in a statement says "I am very disturbed by these anonymous allegations, which make my heart ache."

"I take them very seriously. I care deeply for people’s feelings and sincerely live in a way that treats people with dignity and respect."

E! Entertainment in a statement says "E! has a longstanding commitment to providing a safe working environment in which everyone is treated with respect and dignity. We take all complaints of misconduct seriously, and thoroughly investigate all allegations of harassment."
