Cape Town – Andrew Sachs who played the Spanish waiter Manuel in Fawlty Towers has died. He was 86 years old.
His wife Melody confirmed the news in an interview with the DailyMail.
The actor who died at a care home on 23 November was buried on Thursday.
In the interview she revealed that he was diagnosed with dementia four years ago.
John Cleese, the co-creator of the popular TV show paid tribute to him on Twitter.

In his role as Manuel he was regularly seen being hit by Cleese's character, Basil Fawlty.
