Sean Astin joins the cast as Bob, Joyce's love interest.

Other newcomers include a brother / sister duo Billy (Dacre Montgomery) and Max (Sadie Sink) and the new person in charge of the laboratory, Dr. Owens (Paul Reiser).

In an earlier interview creator Matt Duffer revealed that Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) is still alive and that the season will delve into her backstory more.

As for the monsters, they'll be bigger and badder.
