Here are some Netflix shows to inspire your MCQP outfit

Cape Town - If you're looking for a party to close out your year in style MCQP will take place on Saturday, 16 December 2017 at The Castle of Good Hope. Tickets will start at R380 and are available at Quicket.

The theme for this year's shindig is Dungeons and Dragons and we couldn’t be more excited.

There are a lot of places you can go for costume inspiration but there’s one that’s right under your nose, Netflix.

Here are some shows and movies to inspire your outfit:

Dwarvenaut

Looking to draw inspiration from the real thing? Dwarvenaut is documentary that takes a dreamlike glimpse into the visionary mind of Brooklyn-based artist and entrepreneur Stefan Pokorny, an art prodigy obsessed with Dungeons and Dragons, who attempts to bring his most ambitious work to life through Kickstarter.

Merlin makes magic:

If you’re taking your lead from Camelot, make sure you catch all 5 seasons of Merlin, the adventures of the legendary sorcerer as a young man, when he was just a servant to young Prince Arthur on the royal court of Camelot, who soon becomes his best friend, and turned Arthur into a great king and a legend.

Dragon shows galore:

If you’d prefer a more literal interpretation of the theme, Netflix has an abundance of Dragons who you can base your character on. From the three How to Train your Dragon movies to Disney’s Pete’s Dragon; the perennially popular Shrek; kids’ favourite Bo On The Go; and Lego Elves: Secrets of Elvendale - you’ll be spoilt for choice.

If you feel like reigning supreme:

If your heart is set on being regal, get your royal game on with Reign following the life of Mary, Queen of Scots, as she faces political and sexual intrigue in the treacherous world of the French court.

Lord of the Rings

Get in touch with your inner Hobbit with a Lord of the Rings inspired costume of Middle-earth friends and foes. Whether you go as someone saving the Shire or wrap yourself in the cloak of an enemy, the show is great inspiration.

Dragon’s Den

Feel like going a bit off-script? Why not let wealthy business tycoons Peter Jones or Deborah Meaden be your inspiration.
