Here's what you need to know about I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!

Cape Town – For the first time South African TV junkies can watch the hit British reality show I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here thanks to ITV Choice (DSvt 123).

The popular show sees a well-known group of celebrities get dropped in the Australian outback to battle it out in various challenges to see who will be crowned king or queen of the jungle.

Here's a quick cheat sheet about the show:

15  seasons strong!

I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!  is in its 15th series but this is the first time it is being seen in South Africa - airing just 48 hours after the UK. It runs for a total of 21 consecutive days. The show was the most watched show on British television in 2013, and is consistently in the top 10 most watched shows each year.

Battle for the crown

The celebrities are dropped into a remote part of Australia where they must compete for the title of King or Queen of the Jungle. They take part in scary challenges like having thousands of cockroaches crawl over them or guiding snakes through a maze. Or the infamous Bushtucker Trials which involve eating a variety of deeply unappetising local fauna like grub worms and the nether regions of various marsupials in order to win food for themselves and their campmates.

Award winning hosts

Multiple BAFTA-Award winning duo Ant and Dec (Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly) are the show’s hosts, adding even more humour to what’s happening in the camp as they give us the gossip from the jungle and oversee the grisly Bushtucker Trials.
