Idols SA episode 2: The cake, wash me and bless my sweating

Pretoria – The next stop on the Idols season 12 audition round was the capital city, Pretoria.

In all honesty we were never ready for what PTA had in store for us: there was cake, explicit lyrics, Wooden Mic gold, original ''hits" and the return of bad Randall.

By the end of a long day, the judges issued 21 Golden Tickets.

Here's how things went down:

The auditions started off on a high note with Ongezwa Matshoba who performed for the very first time ever to an audience.

After her there were a slew of other Golden Ticket recipients.

And then things took a bit of a turn. Thokozile Ndimande gifted the judges with a really good looking vanilla sponge cake. Her voice earned her 3 nods from the judges.

But it was her cake that had Twitter buzzing. While everyone on social media was salivating over the cake, Somizi face-dived right into it. #RIPCake.

And then came the Wooden Mic auditions kicked off by Amos Phokela…..

Ayanda Ntame was back and gave an interesting rendition of the Silento hit, Watch Me, Wash Me?!

Things got back on track with Shanice who slayed Drake's, Hotline Bling.

And can we just say Lucia Jakeni blew us away!

The Msibi Sisters were on fire! We think they sound better together than apart. What do you think?

Just like the rest of the country we learnt a new word, Fororo. Lucky Xaba's audition was a bleep fest.

Our performance of the night goes to Petric Mogotsane Mashumu. His orginal song, Bless My Sweating had a very deep meaning to it. Work hard ya'll.

Here’s how Twitter reacted to the episode:
