Imagine Mr Big was Alec Baldwin?

Johannesburg - In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, creator of the hit series Sex and The City, Beverly Hills 90210 and Melrose Place revealed that his first choice for Carrie Bradshaw’s love interest Mr Big wasn’t Chris Noth but Alec Baldwin.

“I was thinking of Alec Baldwin for Big initially. I don’t really watch Law & Order, but I met with Chris Noth and thought he was perfect. I remember the first table read, how good he was. I’m not saying that Chris was Mr Big, but he brought a lot of his own persona to the role,” said Star in the interview.

Even more surprising is that Josh Corbett wasn’t his first choice for Aidan either – initially he had Aidan Quinn in mind for the role. (He’s currently playing Captain Thomas "Tommy" Gregson in the CBS television series Elementary.) “We initially were thinking about Aidan Quinn for Aidan, but I think he wasn’t available. I loved John Corbett in Northern Exposure, and we were like, ‘Well, what’s John Corbett been up to?’ He just had the laconic, dudish vibe. But we kept ‘Aidan’ because we loved the name.” said Star.

It’s hard to imagine Sex and the City with these completely different faces and we’re not sure we’d like to!

But now that we’re reminiscing about love in the city, here are some of our favourite Carrie Bradshaw quotes on love:

- “After a while, you just want to be with the one that makes you laugh.”
- “No matter who broke your heart, or how long it takes to heal, you’ll never get through it without your friends.”
- “You have to figure … if the world’s fattest twins can find love, there’s hope for all of us. Somewhere out there is another little freak who will love us, understand us, and kiss our 3 heads and make it all better.”
- “I’m looking for love. Real love. Ridiculous, inconvenient, consuming, can’t-live-without-each-other love.”
