Johannesburg - A hotter, tighter and faster paced Live AMP is amped to take over SABC 1 prime time television every Friday evening at 19:30, starting Friday, 12 February.
The team behind South Africa’s number one music show, which is produced by Urban Brew Studios, was ready for the move to prime time.
Series Producer Sjula Dlamini says: “Live AMP is now your official ticket to the weekend, kick starting the party first thing on a Friday evening. The show, hosted by Warras and Pearl Thusi, will remain authentically South African as we support predominantly local music and there are a few exciting new interactive features to lookout for.”
Existing features that will remain unchanged include Opening Performances and Megamix, which both cultivate home-grown beats. Opening Performances will also continue to live outside Live Amp broadcasts on the You Tube channel.
Hot new features on Live AMP prime time include; VJ Keep Playing My Song which asks viewers for their feedback via a poll on Twitter.
My Beat, meanwhile, acknowledges a tune’s unsung heroes; the composers or producers.
Live AMPS's local homeboy and international correspondent, Sid the Kid, brings viewers the latest news from international red carpets and chats to global stars in his unique way.
Dlamini says: “Live Amp’s old favourites and new interactive content is bound to keep viewers locked in.”
