Cape Town – Oscar-winning actor Mahershala Ali will star in third season of True Detective.
HBO confirmed the news on Wednesday at the Television Critics Association’s press tour.
President of programming Casey Bloys said that he had read five scripts for season three and is very excited, reports Entertainment Weekly.
"I don’t want to give away the storyline, but I really think they’re terrific," says Bloys.
The network is currently on the lookout for directors.
Ali shared the news on his Instagram account.
The first season of the anthology crime series starred Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson and had critical success.
Season two which starred Colin Farrell, Vince Vaughn, and Rachel McAdams did not have positive reviews.
