Medical student fourth contestant to join Tropika Island of Treasure

Cape Town – Tropika Island of Treasure 8 has just announced the fourth contestant to join the reality competition show.

23-year-old Nondu Mabizela will compete for the grand prize with a celebrity partner.

The medical student from Midrand is an avid runner and recently completed the Soweto marathon.

We asked her 5-quick fire question to get to know her better:

1. Who is the one person you would get stuck on an island with?

I wouldn’t mind being stuck on an island with Chris Brown, he’s nice to look at, and he can teach me how to dance while we’re there.

2. What’s the one thing you could never live without?

A pen and paper. I’m always drawing and writing down my ideas, goals and inspirations.

3. If you discovered an island and could name it, what would it be?

I would name it “Sourire Paradise”. Sourire means to smile in French, and I’m one person who’s always laughing, smiling or finding reasons to just be happy. Naming it that would be the perfect reflection of who I am.

4. How long do you think you would survive if you were stranded on an island alone?

I would survive more than 30 days. I went to a boarding school which was quite big on adventurous activities. When it comes to building shelter, finding water, making food out in the wild and all those types of basic survival tactics I think I would do pretty well. The biggest challenge would be being alone, I mean you can only talk to animals for so long before you lose your mind.

5. What will you do with the prize money if you win?

I would use some of the money to fund my varsity fees. Then I would buy a new car, do something special for my parents and go shopping, of course.
