Meet the six singles who will get Married at First Sight

Cape Town – 700 hundred people entered for the second season of Married At First Sight SA on Lifetime (DStv 131).

After an extensive matching process six participants have been selected to tie the knot with complete strangers. 

On Friday's episode the participants will be telling their friends and family that they will be getting married. They will also be doing some wedding shopping for their gowns and suits. 

Meet the participants here:

THE LADIES

Khensani Maluleke

Khensani is a 30 year old self-proclaimed “strong-minded, outspoken, fun loving, happy-go-lucky gal”. She lives in Pretoria and loves her position in the financial services industry as a Portfolio Manager. Khensani has an undergraduate degree in BCom Investment Management with honours in Financial Planning. 

She is family orientated and enjoys having a glass of wine with her friends. Khensani spends her down time reading, baking, trying out new recipes or embarking on new, and sometimes daring, adventures. She is also an avid photographer. 

She says she signed up for Married At First Sight SA to, “see what partner I would be paired with, should I get a match, and how it differs with what I usually chose. I am hoping that he may be "the one"!”

Nontsikelelo Molebogeng Diutlwileng

27-year-old Lebo was born in Brits and now lives in Ferndale. She is an HR manager and is currently studying towards a BA in Communication Science from UNISA.

Lebo would describe herself as someone with a bubbly personality, “I'm forever laughing or making jokes. I'm generally an approachable person and I love meeting new people. I'm also known to be inquisitive.”

She enjoys dancing, singing and socialising in her spare time. However admits to preferring an intimate gathering with a few friends, rather than big parties. 

Clarissa Schoeman

29-year-old Clarissa says she has a passion and love for life. The production planner from Centurion enjoys spending her free time with her family and friends and with her dogs and cat. 

Clarissa leads an active life and enjoys going to gym, dancing or doing warrior races. She is a sports fanatic and an avid Lions rugby supporter. Of herself she says, “I love to laugh, I’m caring and a firm believer of the universe and karma - so have good intentions and thoughts always!”

She loves to live outside her comfort zone and believes “that is where the best stories are made.” Clarissa who says she is settled and happy in every other aspect in her life, decided to enter Married At First Sight SA because she feels that the only thing that is missing is someone to share her life with.

THE MEN

Hendrik van Moerkerken 

30 year old Hendrik, or Hennie as he is fondly known, grew up in Vanderbijlpark but now lives in Centurion. He has two siblings and family is very important to him. Hennie describes himself as an, “independent and energetic young man who’s always up for a challenge.”

When he isn’t hard at work as a Sales Manager he enjoys training, trail running and spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoys the occasional relaxed weekend in and catch up on TV viewing. 

Hennie prides himself in what he has accomplished in his life and says he is ready to share his life and grow with someone special by his side. He quips, “I signed up for Married At First Sight SA because getting married is a major milestone for me and I believe that with the help of the experts and the process it might be one ofthe best modern ways of finding a life partner.”

Patric Mbenenge

35-year-old Patric was born in Khutsong, Carletonville and currently lives in Soweto. He is a professional choreographer, dancer and actor who most recently worked with Johnny Clegg on his final journey tour. One of the pieces he is most proud about is having choreographed a dance show piece for the 2010 FIFA Soccer World Cup closing ceremony. 

When he isn’t on tour or performing, Patric enjoys going out with friends for a few drinks or watching soccer. He describes himself as a, “cool and really fun,yet hardworking and ambitious guy.”

Patric says he decided to sign up for Married At First Sight SA because he has been struggling to find the right lady, who is also ready for commitment. 

Gaven Taele

41-year-old Gaven was born in Soweto, but grew up in Mmabatho in the North West province. It was there that he learned how to dance and became a professional dancer with the North West Arts council. 

He danced in the Sun City extravaganza, before joining a cruise ship production company and dancing on one of their ships which sailed the Mediterranean islands. Thereafter he moved cruise companies and spent 10 years based out of Miami and cruised the Caribbean islands. He has since retired from the cruise life and is self-employed, freelancing in the entertainment industry.

Gaven lives in Midrand and would describe himself asan outgoing person, who will try anything once. He says he decided to “take a chance” and sign up for Married At First Sight SA.
