Meet the third contestant of Tropika Island of Treasure

Cape Town - Mpande Buthelezi is the third contestant who will be joining the eighth season of Tropika Island of Treasure.

The 21-year-old is currently a student at City Varsity and also runs a small production company.

Mpande says he entered the competition to make things better for his family and that they are his motivation to win.

We asked him 5 quick fire questions to get to know him better:

1. Who is the one person you would like to get stuck on an island with?

Sbahle Mpisane she has attributes of a brilliant mind and physique.

2. What’s the one thing you could never live without?

My loved ones. Family and friends are everything to me and I couldn’t imagine life without them.

3. If you discovered an island and could name it, what would it be?

I’d name the island ‘Godly Views’!

4. How long do you think you would survive if you were stranded on an island alone?

I’m confident I’d last on an island for give or take six months. There’s a whole lot of coconuts, fish, rain (which will be my water source), wood and I will build shelter. But since I would probably start hallucinating I don’t know where I’ll end up.

5. What will you do with the prize money if you win?

I would renovate my parents house and build them a bigger church. Then, I’d like to invest some as well. I am a firm believer that you reap what you sow. My main focus would be helping my parents. I truly believe that without them, I wouldn’t be where I am today.
