Minki van der Westhuizen to host Boer Soek ’n Vrou

Cape Town - The popular Afrikaans reality TV show Boer Soek ’n Vrou (2007-current) has just announced that Minki van der Westhuizen will be hosting the 9th season when it airs later this year on kykNET.

TV personality and actress Nadia Beukes has stepped down after two season as presenter to join the cast of the upcoming new kykNET soapie version of the Afrikaans drama Getroud Met Rugby (which starts Monday, 4 April on kykNET, DStv 144).

Minki, a former Pasella presenter, relocated back to South Africa in December 2015 after living in London with her husband, former rugby player Ernst Joubert, and their two kids, Katerien (2) and Elise (16 months).

Minki says she was contacted by the show’s producer Elmarie Botha to find out if she’d be interested in the hosting gig. "At first I hesitated to take the job because a reality show is a whole new thing for me," Minki told kyknet.dstv.com. "But I’m looking forward to meet the new contestants, to overcome obstacles and am excited to become a part of this successful production."

Filming on the 9th season is set to start in the next few weeks.
