More drama and tantrums in season 2 of It's Complicated

Johannesburg - Get ready for more love, lies and betrayal when season 2 of Mzansi Magic’s popular relationship drama series, It’s Complicated, starts on Sunday 9 October at 20:00 on Mzansi Magic (DStv channel 161).

The first season was a big hit as viewers tuned in to see what was cooking between Ipeleng (Fikile Mthwalo-Kani) and her long time on-off boyfriend Thatho (Siyabonga Radebe), as well as their motley crew of friends and family in the form of Vumani (Atandwa Kani), Thabang (Motlatsi Mafatshe), Matli (Samela Tyelbooi) and Ntandokazi (Thishiwe Ziqubu).

Last season ended with Thato marrying Ntandokazi against dizzying odds, and a heartbroken Ipeleng throwing caution to the wind and straying from her good-girl character. And the best part? The pregnancy bombshell!

The new season picks up just over four months after all the drama and "truth bombs". This time, not only is Ipeleng’s dogged determination to get the perfect life in the form of a marriage and children clouding her judgment, it also leads her to make a tragic error that costs her the very thing that she has always wanted.

Meanwhile, Thato and Ntandokazi’s already fragile relationship isn’t made any less fraught by a wedding ring. Could a couple that was on the brink of a break-up so close to their wedding survive the challenges that they - and their extended family – keep heaping on them? Did they get married too soon? Did they do it for the right reasons? And will they see things through… for better or for worse?

"This season, the story will also delve into Mandisa’s past. As Ipeleng’s rock, she’s hardly had the time to deal with her own skeletons, choosing instead to bury them deep. But a shocking and horrifying secret will come out, cracking open Mandisa’s seemingly solid foundation and threatening to blow her life into a million pieces," says M-Net’s Head of Drama, Reneilwe Sema.

There are some new faces in the drama this season: Phila (Lungile Radu), Katlego (Masasa Mbangeni), Nqobizitha (Austin Shandu) and Dr Patience Moloi (Hlubi Mboya), who’ll surely spice things up even more this season.
