Los Angeles - New Girl has been renewed for a sixth season.
The sitcom - which stars Zooey Deschanel, Jake Johnson, Lamorne Morris, Max Greenfield, and Hannah Simone - recently celebrated its 100th episode and will return for a new series on Fox.
Fox entertainment president David Madden said: "Every network comedy should aspire to what Liz Meriwether is achieving in New Girl, with its bravura dialogue, inventive and witty performances by the talented cast and emotionally engaging storytelling.
"The series is as creatively strong today as it ever was, we want to congratulate New Girl on reaching its milestone 100th episode and we can't wait for the next subversive and hilarious chapter of these characters' lives."
Megan Fox, who replaced Zooey on the show when she went on maternity leave last year, confirmed at CinemaCon that she will also be returning this year.
