Cape Town – Former Paralympian Oscar Pistorius sits down in his first television interview since the night he shot and killed his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp on Valentine's Day 2013.

Oscar, who has been found guilty of murder, will speak to investigative journalist, Mark Williams-Thomas, in a special one-off programme titled Oscar Pistorius: The Interview.

It will air on Friday, 24 June at 21:00 on Britain’s ITV. (SA airing date not announced yet)

According to a statement released by ITV, Oscar speaks to Williams-Thomas from his uncle's home as he prepares to return to jail.

"In the documentary, Pistorius gives his account of what happened the night he killed his girlfriend and is questioned about key details of the prosecution case which resulted in his conviction. He also talks about his relationship with Reeva, the allegations of his previous abusive behaviour towards her and and his previous use of firearms," ITV said.

The Steenkamp family declined the opportunity to take part in the programme.
