Los Angeles - Selena Gomez is to produce a new drama series described as a Latina version of Empire.
The Hands To Myself hitmaker has signed up as executive producer of the new show, which is being developed alongside Freeform and Aaron Kaplan.
The television programme, which is as yet untitled, is currently in development and follows an 18-year-old girl with big dreams living in a low income Latino neighbourhood, Deadline reports.
Aaron got the idea for the project after he was inspired by a speech made by high school student Ana Cobarrubias at The Zimmer Children's Museum Discovery Award Dinner last year.
Ana has also been signed up as a consultant for the show but producers are still searching for a writer.
