The most emotional performance on The Voice SA ever

Cape Town – There wasn't a dry eye across the land on Sunday night when Vernon Barnard took to the stage for his Voice SA audition.

Vernon was born with glaucoma, a degenerative eye disease that leads to blindness, and at the age of six he lost his vision.

But this didn't stop him from pursuing his dreams.

He is a blind cricketer, and has been selected to play for the under-19 national team and participating in the T20 World Cup in India.

The 22-year-old from Strand, who started singing two years ago, wowed the coaches and the audience with his rendition of One Direction's, Story of My Life.

Bobby van Jaarsveld was visibly moved by Vernon’s performance and felt a strong spiritual connection with him the moment he started singing.
