SABC3’s new wedding show starts today and host Noluthando Malope is brimming with energy. “I’m excited and looking forward to everybody seeing the final product of the project we’ve been working on,” Nolu says. “It’s an exciting show and I think everyone is going to like it.”
The reality series sees couples who’ve been in long-term relationships, or who are engaged, given three days and a budget of R75 000 to creatively plan and execute their weddings. Cameras follow couples as they prepare for their big day.
“We’ve been shooting for four weeks now. The shoots are pretty exciting and there’s a bit of pressure as we’re literally organising a wedding in three days,” Nolu tells us.
The petite beauty beat scores of hopefuls for the hosting job. It’s the concept of the show that appealed to her. “I auditioned then went for call backs,” says Nolu, who also hosts One Gospel’s music talk show, More Than a Song. “I wanted the job from the word go. I liked the concept and kept thinking this (the job) has to be mine.”
Viewers can expect a different take on the typical reality wedding show, she says. “Expect a lot of high emotion, a little bit of drama, and a lot of pressure. Expect a big celebration of life. It’s very different from Our Perfect Wedding, so viewers can expect a new show.”
Married in a Flash airs Wednesdays at 19:30 on SABC 3 from 11 October 2017.
