This is what you can look forward to in the new season of The Republic of Zoid!

Cape Town – Karen Zoid’s popular talk show returns for a third season on 7 January at 20:30 on kykNET (DStv 144).

In the Republic of Zoid Africa laughter and music is the best medicine.

Karen talks to her country's favorite thinkers, dreamers, entertainers and other influential people during the satirical late night talk show with brilliant music and funny sketches.

We had a quick chat with Karen about the new season.

What makes this season different from previous seasons?

Champagne with Sandra Prinsloo, tea with Thuli Madonsela, Koos Kombuis goes cajun blues and  pearls of wisdom from media magnate Jane Raphaely and the we also have a bite size new reality series Keeping up with Marinda within the show. Every episode is glorious, sublime and ridiculous and then we fortunately once again have these beautiful moments (that seem to come out of nowhere) where a guest just tells it like it is and we all feel connected on a very deep and meaningful level. New season, new people, new ideas and new sounds.

Will the iTunes-topping duets be back this season? (We loved the songs from last season)

There are some really special duets coming up. I don’t want to give too much away now.

Which guest in the latest season was the funniest during the interview?

Comedian Marion Holm.

Which guest in the latest season surprised you the most during the interview?

Rolene Strauss’s party trick

Who else would you love to interview that hasn't been on the show yet?

Too many to mention. Seriously.
