Johannesburg - Actor Werner Coetser, best known for his role as Bernard in 7de Laan (2000-current), is leaving the SABC2 soapie for the brand-new kykNET soapie Getroud Met Rugby, which will start on Monday 4 April on kykNET.
According to a 7de Laan insider, Werner will still be on the 7de Laan set till the end of February this year, wrapping up his storyline as Bernard, and will leave our screens by the end of April.
It’s not yet known how Bernard will depart 7de Laan and the publicity team at Danie Odendaal Productions weren’t willing to elaborate on the subject.
Werner’s one of a string of actors to leave 7de Laan in recent months, including Heino Schmitt (Altus), Deon Coetzee (Herman), Hanli Rolfes (Anna), Leslie van Wyk (Louis) and Simoné Northmann (Nadia).
On Getroud, Werner will play the role of Blitz, a 24-year-old rugby player who’s a bit of a hot head and ladies’ man.
He should be onscreen by June, alongside other recently announced Getroud Met Rugby stars David Vlok, Althus Theart, Franci Swanepoel, Johan Scholtz, Nadia Beukes and Rina Nienaber.
