Trevor Noah is writing a book of personal essays worth $3m

New York — Trevor Noah is upholding another tradition left from his Comedy Central predecessor Jon Stewart: He's writing a book.

Publisher Spiegel & Grau told The Associated Press on Tuesday that it had acquired a collection of personal essays by Noah about growing up in South Africa. The book is currently untitled and will come out in November.

Financial terms were not disclosed, but two publishing officials with knowledge of the negotiations said the deal was worth more than $3m. The officials were not authorized to discuss the deal and asked not to be identified.

Stewart, who left Comedy Central last fall, collaborated with his Daily Show team on the 2004 best-seller America (The Book).
