Two great comebacks on Idols top 9!

Cape Town – Things are starting to get very real on Idols SA.

The first contestant to fall victim to the least amount of votes was Sanele.

After Bevin and Nosihe were declared safe the writing was on the wall. Their fans are doing the most to keep them in the competition, hey.

It must be torture though waiting until the end of the show to hear your fate. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. (wait I lie, I would)

Anyway back to the performances.

The theme for this week was Judges Choice and Unathi took the top honours of bragging rights, with three of her songs chosen by contestants.

Before I get to my top 5 performances I have some notes.

Keegan has always been a firm favourite of mine but this week he disappointed. (yeah, come after me)

I really didn’t feel like he sang at all. The first verse was a bit shaky and he did a lot of improvising, but the singing was left to the backup singers. He is also starting to become a one trick pony, yes, we know you can hit the falsetto notes, we know you can move.  (See his performance here)

Show us something else next week, okay boo. Dankie.

Here are my top 5 performances

5. Nosihe

So this performance was a bit controversial; some liked it others hated it. But I have to give it to her she came out guns blazing. This is the first time Nosihe has looked confident and sang with confidence. She's finally coming into her own and I applaud that.

And if you're wondering about that arrangement, it seems like she drew inspiration from the Postmodern Jukebox version. (Listen here)

4. Terra

You're only as good as your last performance and this week's performance failed in comparison. I know Randall said you don’t have to have a great performance every week, but I disagree. The aim is to get votes and if you have one meh performance people are bound to lose interest because there'll be someone else doing their best this week.

With that said though, he is still one of the best singers; he was just lacking that oomph this week.

3. Noma

The young teacher is cruising in the safe zone. It was a good performance, way better than her Top 10 one. She seems more comfortable on stage. It was a perfect song choice.

2. Thami

What a comeback after last week's failed performance. Another good song choice and his vocals were on point. #TeamFreshMilk is here to stay.

1. Teboga

Welcome to the competition Tebza! If seems like Tebogo finally believes that he deserves to be in the Top 9. He did a great rendition of Black Coffee's Superman and he slayed. Hands down, the best performance of the night.
