Cape Town - South African soapie fans can look forward to acting veteran, Ilse Roos, joining the cast of Suidooster soon.
Roos, who previously appeared in both 7de Laan and Egoli, will make her first appearance on the local soapie on 9 March.
She’ll be playing the role of Rita du Plooy who is married to Chris, played by Marcel van Heerden. The role of her son, Tim, is played by actor Marco Spaumer.
"Ilse Roos is an amazing actress and in a league of her own," says Kaye Ann Williams, commissioning editor at kykNET.
"Her elegance and professionalism is an asset to any production. We feel really blessed to welcome such an iconic actress to the set of Suidooster."
According to Roos she’s very excited about the opportunity to join the local soapie, which is currently being filmed in Cape Town.
"It is a delightful role that will keep me on my toes. Plus I get to drive past the ocean to work every day right by the foot of Table Mountain," Roos said.
Suidooster airs Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesday at 18:00 on kykNET (DStv 144) and kykNET & Kie (DStv 145).
