WATCH: Trevor Noah jokes about American healthcare as he returns to The Daily Show

Cape Town – Trevor Noah was back on his post as host of The Daily Show after an emergency appendectomy that saw him rushed to hospital earlier this week.

On Thursday night’s episode of the late night talk show Noah shared his first experience of the American healthcare system.

“It was an interesting experience going to the emergency room. I’m not going to lie. I don’t know if emergency room is the right term. Because they make you wait.

“I feel like there should be two rooms. A room for emergencies, and a room for people who can fill out forms,” Noah joked.

The South African comedian goes on to explain the great amount of pain he was in and how the hospital’s main concern was to make sure he filled in all the necessary forms.

“I’m dying,” Noah told the nurse as he could hardly stand up straight. “Yeah, but I need you to fill out the form,” the nurse replied.
