Cape Town - American singer, songwriter and actress Christina Milian let the fans into her life with her reality show Turned Up.
The series follows her career, love life, and her relationship with her momager, Carmen and two sisters, Danielle and Liz.
The show was such a big hit that E! renewed the show for a second season which will make its South African debut Friday, 13 November at 20:00 on E! Entertainment (DStv Channel 124).
We had a quick chat with Christina about the new season, the family drama and her future plans.
Channel24:What can viewers expect from the second season of your show?
Christina:We're actually turned up. A lot of fun new music, new adventures, more fights, new relationships, me being open about my relationship and taking over my career. Of course all of us are having transitions. Even my mom goes on a few dates.
Channel24:In the first season you had lots of drama with your family, how are things now?
Christina:We are good now. There is not really any drama between us as sisters. We had some drama in the first season but it is what it is. That's what sisters do. We love each other and we are super close in fact we're even closer than we have ever been.
Channel24:Are there some awkward moments when the cameras follow you and you need a moment alone?
Christina:Yes, sometimes. When I shot my first day I unexpectedly ended up dealing with some low points in my relationship and the cameras were right there to catch it. I just acted like they weren't there because it was really happening and I couldn't put a fake smile on my face and act like I was doing something else. I guess it was a good way for me to pay attention and to make choices for myself. Filming gave me some really good eye-opening moments about my life. Sometimes when we hide our secrets, we continue to make choices that aren’t good for us. But I think it prepared me for accepting what the truth is and understanding that maybe it is just not the right time for certain things.
Channel24:You have an EP dropping soon, will you tell us a bit more about it?
Christina:4U - is the title of my upcoming EP. It is four songs and four amazing music videos all about my life. The EP is about my love life, they're all songs about what was happening in my life. It's sexy, it's fun and it’s for my fans. I really got to express myself creatively which is a dream come true because I did it all independently. I've been investing in myself and in this project.
Channel24:You star alongside John Stamos in the show Grandfathered, what attracted you to the role? And what’s it like working with him?
Christina:He's awesome and a really cool guy and he is really funny. I've always been a fan. He was one of the reasons I wanted to do the show. My role is crazy, fun, she’s a cool girl who is also a mother. I just feel like I can relate to her in so many ways and I had a good time challenging myself to be funny.

Channel24: How do you balance work and family life?
Christina: I don't know! But both of those things are always at the forefront of my mind and in my focus. Family and career are two things that I love and am passionate about. You make time for what you love. I have a lot of energy somehow. I am thankful for that.
Channel24:Are there any other exciting projects on the cards?
Christina:I have clothing line and clothing store called, We Are Pop Culture. It's doing really well. It's been exciting designing clothes and opening my own clothing store. It's a really cool situation to be able to express yourself creatively through fashion, I love it! We have recently branched out into kids and men’s clothing.
