Cape Town - Julia Theunissen, daughter of the famous South African medium Marietta Theunissen, is getting her own TV show on VIA (DStv channel 147).

Starting Friday, 11 March at 16:30, Julia will help people to make contact with loved ones who have passed away so they can make peace with the past.

On this show, titled Tussen Twee Wêrelde, Julia invites those struggling with the loss of a loved one to sit down with her in a comfortable environment for a reading and she then shares the message she receives with them.

Her mother Marietta Theunissen’s well-known TV show, Die Ander Kant, which aired on kykNET, had a similar premise.

The show enjoyed five successful seasons between 2004 and 2010.

To see Julia on her own show signifies the birth of a new generation of psychic mediums.

'Images appear in my mind'

Julia explains the process as follows: “Images appear in my mind’s eye in the form of pictures, which I then interpret to my clients. All my messages stem from a place of love.” Julia’s approach with Tussen Twee Wêrelde is to equip people to live their best lives.

“I coach people to take a positive stance on their lives. I want to help them to find closure,” she explains.

After the reading, guests tell the camera how they experienced the process, advice and interpretation. Here they have the opportunity to be honest about their journey and to share their outlook on the future with viewers.

Marietta Theunissen makes her appearance at the end of each show. She chats with Julia about the day and what stood out to her about the guests and their stories.

“My mom is my strongest and best friend. We understand each other fully and she still shares her wisdom with me.”
