2015 was Sonia Sedibe's big comeback

Johannesburg – Sonia Sedibe must have a thick skin.

The actress has had a nightmare last couple of years, from leaving Generations to a stroke and a messy and public divorce. It would have been too much for most people, but not for Sonia, who put her head down and deflected all those broke and depression rumours to begin what promises to be an amazing comeback.

After leaving popular soapie Generations, Sonia seemed determined to put it all behind her and focus on herself. She spoke out about her divorce (labelling her husband's intolerance for her “alternative friends” as a reason for their split), mild stroke and departure from Generations on occasion, but largely prefered to keep to herself.

There were glimpses of her throughout the year, but it was mostly in the company of friends (of which she considers Vivicia Fox one) or her children.

But as the year drew to a close, fans were given an early Christmas present: Sonia returning to TV - heading back to the throne she so magestically ruled back in the day.

The rumours were true! Sonia would be returning to TV with a role on e.tv’s telenovella, Gold Diggers. So, by the time she finally made her appearance we all knew that even though she had been away, it was as if she never left.
