4 reasons Shuffle and his missus are our fave couple

Johannesburg - He used to be one the fiercest footballers in the country, but when it comes to matters of the heart, they don't come softer or romantic than soccer legend, Jabu Mahlangu.

Jabu and his wife, Thwana, have been married for 11 years, but whenever we see them they still act as though they are love-struck newlyweds. There's hardly a week that goes by without the couple showing their love to each other on social media.

In fact, they have slowly become one of our favourite couples and here's why:

They are forever leaving love notes for each other

Whether it's little notes left for each other on social media, or just a simple pic of each other on their profiles, Jabu and his wife sure know how to keep the spark lit with little messages of love.

They take the time to go on cute couple dates

After 11 years of marriage, you would be forgiven for thinking that the days of going on cute dates have passed for Jabu and his wife. But the couple still make time for each other, even if it's just for a low-key night out.

Jabu says his wife saved his life

It was only a few years ago that Jabu found himself hit rock bottom. Reflecting on his difficulties, Jabu says it was his wife that stood by him.

"My wife Thwana has been a pillar of strength for me. If it hadn’t been for her and the support she has given me, I don’t think I would be here today," he told guests at the YFE programme at the Nelson Mandela Foundation in Houghton, Johannesburg last year.

They go to church together

You know what they say: "a couple that prays together, stays together!" If that's true, we expect Jabu and his missus to spend many more years in each other's arms.
