5FM's Sol says Carmen Reddy is doing better

Johannesburg - 5FM radio personality, Sol Phenduka says he was shocked to hear about the shooting of his colleague, Carmen Reddy on Wednesday night (more on that here) and hopes she returns to the station soon.

Sol, who is on the 5FM morning drive with Carmen, says the news reader is recovering well but remains in ICU.

Talking to Metro FM's Mo Flava on Friday morning, Sol says he noticed that Carmen was not in on Thursday morning but did not question it until someone at the station told him that Carmen had been shot.

"I haven't had much contact with her, but she did call to say that we can visit her. She's still in intensive care I believe," he says.

"You realise that you just not safe. You've locked the door, you celebrating with friends, and a person comes and for a silly thing like a cellphone. But luckily no one else was injured too badly and we just hope that the cops are swift in getting these guys. I just want her back on air," he adds.

Meanwhile, 5FM DJ Vic Naidoo, who was in the room when Carmen was shot (more on that here), has taken to Instagram to thank friends and fans for their prayers and support during this difficult time.
