AKA, Cassper and The Soil lose out at BET Awards

Johannesburg - AKA and The Soil were nominated in the Best African Act at the BET Awards.

But Ghana's Stonebwoy has walked away with the prize.

The announcement was made at a pre-awards ceremony before the big show, which is set to begin in a few hours.

AKA took the loss in his stride, thanking fans for their support and wishing the winner well.

Cassper Nyovest, meanwhile, who is in SA and not at the awards ceremony because of visa issues was also unlucky in the Viewer's Choice Best International Act category, losing out to Ugandan musician Eddy Kenzo.

Cassper took to Twitter to congratulate Eddy shortly after the announcement.

Well, there's always next year, guys!
