AKA talks business

SA's very own prince of rap, AKA, is doing big things this year.

The rapper has teamed up with Grey Goose for a new campaign. Speaking about it, the rapper said: "You can expect lots of exciting events, hosting parties and events, all throughout December and next year. It's just about South African hip hop artists and urban artists working together with brands like Grey Goose to create experiences for fans and me to connect."

He said he identifies with the brand and added: "Everything I do is obviously a certain standard, a certain quality and they approached me and said 'we want to work on a campaign with you you've been doing very well, we think our brand and you would go well together' and I agreed."

AKA is also working on a clothing range with youth urban lifestyle brand Head Honcho. The range, which fans are already excited about, will inlcude t-shirts, leggings, caps, hoodies, etc.  Speaking about this partnership, AKA said: "I don't think that's ever been done before especially by an SA hip hop artist in the country. I partnered up with Head Honcho and we're gonna put out a whole range for summer so that fans can all look alike and we can all feel like we are together..."

He added that there's nothing that he designed that he wouldn't personally wear. "I'm looking forward to that. We're trying to take the culture forward not just in music videos and performances..."
