Johannesburg- AKA dreams that SA fans supported local artists and celebrities more over international icons.
The rapper, who has just returned to the country from a tour in Africa, took to Twitter to express his disappointment at how celebs are treated here.
AKA believes that South Africans should be more humble, and instead of criticising celebrities like tweeps did with Pearl Thusi, we should be uplifting each other.
"Humility is what makes us such a great country and great people. It's also what we use against others to hold them back from being EPIC," he tweeted.
Here's what he had to say:
South Africa and its media seek to destroy their own superstars and champion the American ones.

I dream of the day where South Africans will support and embrace their own superstars above all else.

You swore at your very own Pearl Thusi's mother because she didn't like Beyonce's dress.

Regardless ... I tie that SA flag around that mic stand because it made me who I am.

We totes agree. But we wonder if the man himself is able to stick by his comments?
