Actress Tina Jaxa thankful to be alive after hijacking

Award-winning actress Tina Jaxa is doing well after being hijacked in Cape Town last week. Tina, who starred in Madam and Eve and other local productions, told Sunday Sun she isn't worried.

"I'm thankful that no life was taken. This happened just as I was about to start a programme to rehabilitate juveniles in Pollsmoor prison. All I ask for is for them to apologise," she told the paper.

The incident happened right in front of her gate. She told Sunday Sun: "I begged them not to hurt anyone and to take the car and leave. My sister was in the back and my fiance was in the passenger seat. I was making funeral arrangements for a family member at the time and thought if anyone of us had panicked or screamed, there would have been four deaths to mourn.

She said one of the attackers held a gun to her her stomach while the other one pointed a gun at her sister. "I asked them to to let my sister and fiance go, which they did. I then got out of the car and they left."
