Amanda du-Pont is slowly making a name for herself in the entertainment industry.

The RGB presenter and actress has gained quite a following and  told The Times that she wants to get to a certain level and that she knows that she has to work hard to get there. "I have the next two to five years to accomplish that."

Amanda, who studied studied film and drama at the New York Film Academy, told the paper that she looks up to people like Basetsana Khumalo. She explained: "Basetsana created an empire and she started off as a beauty queen. I admire that because I am not trying to be known as the hot chick, but I do realise how powerful a medium the media is."

Judging by her role models, it seems Amandas is headed in the right direction. She said she has been working on her dream for nine years and has found a formula that works for her.

She told The Times: "I live by an incredible philosophy, there is no negative in life. You can use negativity to do better and empower yourself, bad publicity is good. It is always up to the person to see the power in the negative, I have."
