Arthur Mafokate's touching tribute to Brenda Fassie

Johannesburg- It's been 11-years since the queen of pop, Brenda Fassie died tragically at age 39.

But Brenda's contribution to the music industry and the struggle will live on forever. 

Arthur Mafokate, who idolised Brenda and looked up to her as a mentor, recently took a trip down memory lane. The king of kwaito posted a snap of the album UmuntuUyashinta, which went platinum during a time when people were trying to write her off.

Arthur also remembered how he would carry her bags around, danced for her and followed her around at clubs.

This is one album that sold big, and it happened when people were trying to write off SA's Queen Of Pop #BrendaFassie (who at the time was going through a lot in her life). As someone she raised, (if we all remember that I used to carry her bags around, danced for her, followed her at clubs and even stayed at her house). Few years later she visited me for only 1 and a half hours. And guess what I did with those few hours.
