For years she was a back up singer to some of South Africa's most famous gospel acts, including Rebecca Malope, but Zaza has finally stepped out of the shadows and is claiming gospel for herself. But what's it like at home with Zaza?
Zaza spoke to Move magazine about her humble beginnings from being unemployed after Matric, with no money to pay rent, to dominating radio with her hit Zonkizono.
She tells the magazine that the best thing about being home is that she gets to make food for her husband and kids "I know that nothing brings joy to my husband more than a traditional home-cooked meal," she says. "He enjoys his dombolo and it has become a family favourite". We hope we invited around for dinner soon!
But when all is said and done Zaza's home remains a god fearing home, one that she says she's very proud of. "I thank God ever day for being blessed with all my family members . There are people out there who are yearning to have a family but have been denied that chance" she says.
Sounds like a happy family! We can't wait for them to invite us over for a sleep over!
