Ayanda Mpama's OPW journey ends next week

But Aya always took the criticism with a pinch of salt.

Ayanda confirmed to The Juice that next Sunday will be the last time she presents OPW, but dismissed swirling rumours that it was because of the social media pressure.

Sowetan is reporting that producers of the show finally gave into the ongoing pressure and criticism, and decided not to renew Ayanda's contract.

Mzansi Magic also confirmed to the paper through a statement that Ayanda is leaving, but rubbished rumours that it was due to the Twitter hate.

"Our viewers have really enjoyed this season with Ayanda as evidenced by the rising audience," read the statement.

Ayanda told The Juice that she had a great time doing the show.

"I am very proud of the work that I did on the show and I signed a contract for 13 episodes, which has come to an end," she explained.

Ayanda added that producers told her to expect pressure and to expect being compared to other hosts, because it always happens.

"I always took the criticism on my chin because people are entitled to their opinions. I also never let people who don't know me, judge me," she said.

The TV presenter added that the criticism has in no way dented her confidence or her talent.

Good for you Aya!
