Backlash over Itumeleng Khune's injury

Kaizer Chiefs big wigs have hit out at Bafana Bafana over the soccer star's injuries.

Itu will likely be out of action for six weeks due to an ankle injury.

But now Itu's club coach, Stuart Baxter has lamented the national team's allegations that his injury is a few months old.

"We would have liked the national team to come to us and talk with us and not speculate in the newspaper and put things into players' heads that shouldn't be there," Stuart told SuperSport.

He also defended the club's medical team. "The medical team we have are first class and the people who have been looking at Khune are top professors," he added.

Stuart explained that they had no reason to believe that Itu's injuries were severe, as they've viewed statistics and he performed exactly the same as he usually does during the lead up to him reporting for duty at the national team.
