Bonnie Mbuli claims her skin colour got her evicted

Johannesburg - We know her as the bubbly presenter on Afternoon Express, but poor Bonnie is definitely not smiling.

In a series of tweets online, Bonnie has detailed how she has been forced to move out of her apartment. The reasons she claims is because of her skin colour.

In a 20-part message, Bonnie details how finding a place in the southern suburbs of Cape Town is difficult. She says she and her friends have encountered various situations where they are shown a place to view, but when they arrive they are told it is 'taken.'

After months of searching, she eventually finds a place. She pays the deposit, moves in and is told she needs to provide identity documents for everyone living in the house. Bonnie says her nanny, who has been living in South Africa for 11 years and came from Zimbabwe when she was 9, even matriculating in Pretoria, lives with them.

Bonnie says she is then asked to provide a work permit for the nanny as well as residency papers. She then hires a lawyer, but is given a week to leave the house.

The actress and TV presenter says it all leads back to the issue of her being black, and the landlord clearly didn't know her skin colour before she moved in.

Here's some of her tweets:
