Confirmed: Trevor Noah to replace Jon Stewart

Last week there were rumours that Trevor Noah had been picked to replace Jon Stewart as host of The Daily Show.

Now, it’s been confirmed.

According to the New York Times, Comedy Central will announce that Trevor has been chosen as the new host. This after Trevor made an appearance on the show in December.

Trevor spoke to the site while on tour in Dubai. “You don’t believe it for the first few hours. You need a stiff drink, and then unfortunately you’re in a place where you can’t really get alcohol.”

And it seems Jon is also happy. “I’m thrilled for the show and for Trevor. He’s a tremendous comic and talent that we’ve loved working with.”

OMG! This is huge.

Congrats, Trevor!
