DJ Sabba's position to be filled after his death

Johannesburg - Umhlobo Wenene FM radio bosses are hard at work to replace the lat DJ Saba Mbixane, and they've made it into a contest.

Instead of replacing the legendary radio host with someone already on the station's roster, radio bosses decided to give the slot to six aspiring community DJs in hope of finding gold.

One of the contestants, Ntebaleng Shete, spoke to the Daily Sun about the prospect of filling Saba's shoes.

"If I get the nod, the first thing people should know is that I’m not Saba Mbixane. They can expect something new that they never got from Saba. They will listen to something different and I will bring my own understanding and a variety of the traditional music I know,” she told the paper.

Umhlobo Wenene FM listeners have the chance to vote on their favourite contestant, with all of the contestants given a chance to present Saba's show, before a winner is announced later in the year.
