Derick Hougaard shares pic of car crash injury on Facebook

Johannesburg - Derick Hougaard on Wednesday allayed fears about his well-being, after posting a message and photo on his Facebook page.

This comes after the former Springbok rugby player was involved in a serious car accident on Monday night.

Derick wrote; "For everyone that is asking, thank you I'm 100. Look like #Mayweather after a fight. And I want to make it clear. My injuries are temporary by grace. I'm praying for the man who got really hurt. Cars are just material things. Love."

The 32-year-old is currently going through a very public split from his wife, Afrikaans singer Karlien van Jaarsveld.

Ever since Karlien announced their divorce last month, prayer groups have been established in an attempt to get the pair to reconcile.

This is the first time Derick has posted an update about his condition, after initially opening up about being involved in the car accident.
