Power FM's mid-morning show host Eusebius McKaiser has quit. Although Eusebius and the station insist that the split was amicable, Sunday World reported that there was bad blood. Insiders told the paper that Eusebius was fed up with management, who had allegedly failed to offer him a contract - 15 months into his job.
Others sources told the paper that the radio host and columnist overrated himself, made ridiculous demands from the owners and treated producers who worked him badly. Eusebius allegedly had three producers while working at the station and apparently no one wanted to touch him because of his "diva tendencies".
Power FM executive director Andile Khumalo said: "He wasn't fired. We came to a mutual agreement that we part ways..."
Eusebius said: "I'm humbled by the response of the listners I also thank Power FM for the platform. We agreed on the mission of Power FM, but when it came to contractual issues that was a struggle. I wanted certain things nailed down and it wasn't happening and we decided to part ways." He added that he is not going to another station.
